It should be noted that during the foreign visits of the leader of Uzbekistan, holding open meetings with businessmen has become a recurring tradition.  Such events serve to establish direct contacts, promote the trade and economic success of our country, and attract foreign investors to mutually beneficial projects.

Hungary is one of the fastest growing economies in Europe, with great potential in agriculture, trade, tourism, finance, and information technology.

In recent years, trade and economic cooperation between our countries have been developing dynamically.  Over the past five years, trade turnover has increased threefold. The volume of joint ventures and investments is growing.

The meeting discussed promising areas of mutually beneficial cooperation in such areas as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, the food industry, electronics and electrical engineering, chemistry, textiles, leather, and the automotive industry.

It was noted that wide-ranging reforms are being carried out in Uzbekistan to improve the fundamental health of all sectors of the economy and increase the well-being of the population.

The Head of State enumerated the main results of the economic policy of Uzbekistan in recent years: the currency market was liberalized and profits were repatriated, a program of privatization of state assets and banks, industrial and infrastructure facilities was launched, and tax system reform.

The development strategy of the new Uzbekistan is aimed at creating the most favorable conditions for entrepreneurs and continuing to work on expanding foreign business in our country.  The most important thing is that foreign business has believed in our renewal», - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

At the meeting, it was told that a joint fund will be established to finance priority projects, which will be operational shortly.

It was suggested that a separate industrial zone should be established for Hungarian companies only and that it should be provided with all the necessary production infrastructure.

According to the Head of Uzbekistan, future joint projects and implementation of scientific developments, design innovations and technologies of Hungarian partners will give a great synergistic effect.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a separate conversation with each member of the Hungarian delegation.  There was a detailed exchange of views on plans to implement specific joint projects.  It was noted that the Uzbek side is ready to render all possible assistance to the Hungarian businessmen in the implementation of their investment plans.

«I invite every entrepreneur to come to our country and personally make sure that Uzbekistan today is the best place to invest! »  Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

Representatives of the Hungarian business community, in turn, highly appreciated the economic reforms carried out in Uzbekistan and expressed their readiness to enter the market of our country and implement promising joint projects.

The signing yesterday at the Uzbek-Hungarian Business Forum of investment, trade, and financial agreements totaling more than $1 billion was another clear demonstration of the parties' interest in cooperation.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided to adopt a complex «road map» with specific deadlines and responsible subjects for the implementation of all proposed projects.

The ministries and departments of Uzbekistan are responsible for providing comprehensive assistance to the Hungarian partners in carrying out successful business activities in our country.
