On May 31, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiknazar. The presidential press service reported the discussion.

During the call, the President inquired about the conditions provided for Uzbek pilgrims currently in Mecca for the Hajj pilgrimage, including their health and overall well-being. The Mufti assured the President that comprehensive organizational measures had been taken to ensure the faithful could perform the Hajj rituals smoothly and in full accordance with tradition.

At present, all 15,000 Uzbek pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia. They are being accompanied by over 300 group leaders, 50 senior medical professionals, more than 10 cooks, and additional support staff.

According to the report, tents in the Arafat area have been arranged in a closed format at the request of the Uzbek side. These tents are equipped with heat-insulating panels, cooling systems, carpets, and mattresses—measures designed to enhance the comfort of pilgrims during the hot summer season.

"In short, preparations for this year’s Hajj season have been carried out at a higher level, and all necessary conditions have been ensured. Our compatriots, filled with gratitude, are now standing at the sacred sites, praying to the Almighty for peace in our country and prosperity for our people,” the report noted.

Mufti Kholiknazar also conveyed to the President the heartfelt greetings and prayers of the pilgrims, who are experiencing the spiritual journey with great devotion. President Mirziyoyev extended his warm greetings in return and wished all pilgrims a safe and healthy return to Uzbekistan.

The conversation was held in a sincere and uplifting spirit. It was expressed with hope that, upon their return, the pilgrims would serve as role models in their communities—contributing to a stronger social environment, supporting those in need, and inspiring young people to pursue knowledge and education.
