On 3 December, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a briefing on efforts to enhance the effectiveness of government communication with the public, the Presidential Press Service reported.

It was noted that amid the ongoing broad-scale reforms across all areas of public and state life in Uzbekistan, improving the system for handling citizens’ appeals, expanding the capabilities of public reception offices, introducing modern approaches to their work, studying public opinion more thoroughly, and taking it into account in decision-making are becoming increasingly important.

The briefing emphasized the need to use modern, professional sociological and analytical methods to accurately assess the public’s mood, needs, and aspirations. This approach provides objective information on the effectiveness of reforms and is a crucial factor in developing future-oriented development programs.

The President stressed that consistently raising the culture of communication with the public, listening to citizens, and making decisions based on their feedback must be a primary standard in the work of state agencies.

It was further highlighted that addressing citizens’ appeals should go beyond providing prompt responses. Government and administrative bodies must systematically analyze incoming appeals, compare them with sociological research findings, and propose appropriate solutions. This approach strengthens the quality of communication and trust between the state and society.

Strengthening the institutional foundations for ongoing dialogue between authorities and the public, developing a modern model based on new approaches, and linking it to systems for studying public opinion were also emphasized as essential.

Responsible officials were instructed to further improve mechanisms for public communication and to enhance the effectiveness of handling citizens’ appeals.
