The President signs the decision on Karakalpakstan

The president of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed the decision to restore the health of the population of Karakalpakstan and raise a healthy and mature generation. According to this decision, an 80-bed children's phthisiatry sanatorium, and a 120-bed children's medical rehabilitation center for children with chronic diseases and disabilities will be established in Karakalpakstan.  This was determined in the decision of the head of state "On the further strengthening of public health protection in the Republic of Karakalpakstan in 2022-2024."

According to the decision, the following will be established in Karkalpakstan:

• 120-bed children's medical rehabilitation center for children with chronic diseases and disabilities;

• children's phthisiatric sanatorium with 80 beds;

• 20-bed surgical department under the Nukus City Medical Association;

• Nukus branch of the Republican Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Specialized Surgery named after academician V. Vokhidov based on the surgical department of the multidisciplinary medical center of the Republic of Karakalpakstan;

• a 20-bed palliative care department (hospice) for critically ill patients within the available places under the Nukus City Medical Association.

In addition, the position of Deputy Minister of Health for medical services in the Aral region was introduced.

From 1 July of the current year, a 50 percent salary increase will be set for all employees working in leprosariums.
