Production in 29 districts of Uzbekistan has decreased by 4.5 trillion sums. This was announced today, May 26, by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a video conference meeting on the upcoming priority tasks for local industrial development.
At the beginning of his speech, the head of state emphasized that in today’s challenging and uncertain conditions, every country primarily takes measures to protect sectors that create the most jobs.
In this regard, it was noted that supporting the textile, construction materials, and furniture industries—which employ nearly one million people—along with the jewelry industry, expected to become another driver of the economy, is crucial in the current volatile external market environment.
Over the past four months, the industrial sector grew by 6.3 percent, reaching 290 trillion sums.
“This growth is the result of timely measures taken in these complex conditions. However, production in 29 districts has decreased by 4.5 trillion sums. These are not small figures,” the president said.
