Fines for stealing money from citizens' plastic bank cards will be reinforced. The bill on amendments to the Criminal Code was considered today, 9 March at the session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament).

The bill introduces a new norm in articles 168 (fraud) and 169 (theft) of the Criminal Code, establishing liability as an aggravating circumstance for the theft of funds from bank plastic cards.

It is known that cases of monetary theft from plastic cards are currently dealt with under article 169 of the Criminal Code.

As noted, in many cases, persons who steal small sums from citizens' bank cards are prosecuted under Article 169, Part 1 of the Criminal Code. In turn, this leads to a lack of punishment for the perpetrators, a failure to take the way of moral reform and a return to criminal activity.
