A treasure belonging to the XVI-XVII centuries was found in the Khoja neighborhood of the Parkent district of the Tashkent region.  This was reported by the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.  According to the Academy, on 16 September of this year, Nasiba Begmatova, a resident of Hunarmand street 47, Parkent district, found coins in the yard of her house.  While digging, she found a treasure of rusty copper coins.

Academy scientists say that 939 coins were found.  They were mixed with wet soil and were rotting underground for a long time.  Both sides of them are lined.

As a result of the processing and cleaning of some of the coins, it was found that they have a circular ring inscribed with Arabic letters.

The coins were minted shallowly, so the inscriptions on them were not visible.  On one side of the cleaned coins, only the inscription "Tashkent seal" was read.

The second side could not be read.  However, a comparison with previously identified similar coins showed that the newly discovered treasure belongs to the late 16th and early 17th centuries.

Other evidence from the place of discovery included - 25x25x5 cm-sized baked bricks, some blue-glazed pottery fragments were also discovered from the above-mentioned period.
