Diyora Keldiyorova of Uzbekistan competed against Amandine Bouchard of France in the semi-final of judo at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.

Uzbekistan has secured its first medal at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games. Judoka Diyora Keldiyorova advanced to the finals in the -52 kg weight category. In the semi-finals, she defeated the host nation's top athlete, Amandine Bouchard, a winner of gold and silver medals at previous Olympic Games.

Diyora Keldiyorova is on the cusp of making history as the first female athlete from Uzbekistan to win a gold or silver medal at the Summer Olympics. To date, no female athlete from Uzbekistan has achieved such a feat. Previously, Ekaterina Khilko won a bronze medal in trampoline gymnastics at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics, making her the only female athlete from Uzbekistan to win an Olympic medal.

It is worth noting that Diyora Keldiyorova earlier competed against Uta Abe of Japan, the champion of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games, and was eliminated from the competition.
