Para-judoka Sherzod Namozov becomes two-times paralympic champion

Para-judoka Sherzod Namozov defended the honor of Uzbekistan in the para-judo competitions at the 2024 Paris Summer Paralympics, held in France.

Namozov competed against Georgian Zurab Zuraiani in the gold medal match in the men's J2 class, -60 kg weight category. Ultimately, Namozov emerged victorious, securing another gold medal for the Uzbek delegation.

With this victory, the total medal count for Uzbekistan at the Paralympics has reached 16: 7 gold, 5 silver, and 4 bronze. The delegation currently ranks 12th in the world standings.

For reference, Sherzod Namozov defeated Lee Minjai of South Korea in the semi-final with a score of 10:0 to advance to the final. He also won a gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Additionally, it is worth noting that Server Ibragimov, another representative of Uzbekistan, won a silver medal in para shooting at the Paralympics.
