Pakhtakor defeats Bukhara in Uzbekistan Cup final

Today, October 29, the final match of the Uzbekistan Cup took place. The game, held at the Bobur Arena in Andijan, ended with Pakhtakor defeating Bukhara.
From the very first minutes at Bobur Arena, fans actively supported their teams. Both sides launched several attacks and created chances in the first half, but neither managed to score. The first half ended in a goalless draw.
In the second half, the capital’s team launched a series of attacks, which finally paid off in the 63rd minute. Pakhtakor’s player, Hojimat Erkinov, opened the scoring and put his team ahead. The referee added seven minutes of stoppage time. In the 93rd minute, Bukhara scored a goal, but it was disallowed due to an offside position. Erkinov’s goal remained the only one of the match, securing Pakhtakor the Uzbekistan Cup title.
For reference, Pakhtakor reached the final after defeating Dynamo in a penalty shootout (4–2) in the semifinals. Bukhara, in turn, overcame Sogdiana (3–2) to earn a spot in the tournament’s decisive stage.
