Schoolchildren in Paxtachi denied boarding bus (video)

A video has circulated on social media showing a driver in the Paxtachi district, Samarkand region, refusing to allow schoolchildren to board a bus because they did not pay the fare. In the footage, parents complain that their children were not permitted to get on the bus, noting that the fare to their destination is 5,000 soums, which poses a burden for families with several children attending school. As a result, the students did not go to school that day and returned home. The regional administration has commented on the incident.

According to official information, the incident occurred on September 3 this year in Nazarobod village of Fay neighborhood, Paxtachi district. Preliminary reports indicate that the owner of a private bus operating from the Sahoba neighborhood in the Nurobod district to the town of Ziyovuddin refused to take the schoolchildren on board.

The Samarkand regional administration has taken the incident under its supervision. It was revealed that 19 students from the mahalla attend school no. 28 in Paxtachi district, while 3 students study at school no. 34 in the same district.

The driver, Musurmon Bobojonov, who refused to allow the children on board the bus operating on the "Sahoba–Oqtosh" route (license plate 30 E 881HB) owned by Oqtosh-Shahzod Trans LLC, was dismissed from his position on September 4 under the company’s order.

It was reported that Oqtosh-Shahzod Trans LLC and the Paxtachi district administration signed an agreement to organize school transport services. Starting from the afternoon of the same day, a free bus service was launched for students.

"Unfortunately, such shortcomings still occur. The regional governor expresses gratitude to social media activists who highlighted this problem and contributed to its resolution. Moving forward, special attention will be given to promptly addressing every complaint", the Samarkand regional administration said in its statement.
