Reports have emerged on social media that a stadium, constructed for 1.1 billion soums under the "Open Budget" project in the Bakhmal district of the Jizzakh region, collapsed less than a month after it was put into operation. The "Single Customer Service" State Enterprise of the Jizzakh region administration has commented on the incident.
According to the statement, the artificial turf stadium, built on the premises of School No. 48 in the "Mustaqillik" neighborhood, was commissioned by the "Single Customer Service" State Enterprise of the Jizzakh region administration. The contractor responsible for the project was "Suvinshoot Qurilish Project" LLC, with the contract valued at 1 billion 190 million sums.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the stadium’s roof collapse was caused by severe weather conditions, including strong winds and heavy snowfall. As a result, the sports facility’s roof sustained damage, though no injuries were reported.
An official investigation is currently being conducted by the customer and contractor organizations.
"The contractor will carry out restoration work in accordance with the project, and the stadium will be repaired and reopened in the near future," the statement said.
It should be recalled that earlier, in the Bagdad district of the Fergana region, a road that was repaired in August last year collapsed while vehicles were passing over it.
