A large gold processing and sales center will be launched

A significant gold processing and sales hub is set to be inaugurated in Namangan, drawing from Turkey's expertise. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev directed officials during a meeting focused on harnessing the region's potential.

Mirziyoyev highlighted that merely 6% of Uzbekistan's gold undergoes processing, with only $78 million worth being exported. He cited a jewelry company he visited on March 25 as indicative of the ample opportunity to boost jewelry production and exports.

As a result, specialized jewelry zones will be established for entrepreneurs, with emphasis on enhancing the supply chain, training workforce, and restructuring the production and sales systems.

Officials were assigned the task of establishing a sizable gold processing and sales facility in Namangan, drawing inspiration from Turkey's model.

It's worth noting that Mirziyoyev, during his recent visit to Namangan, mentioned that the annual gold production reaches 100 tons.
