The first week of the Summer Olympics, hosted by Paris, France, has been filled with heated debates. The Olympic football team representing Uzbekistan played against Spain in the first round of the competition and lost 2-1. Hoping to secure a point in their second game against Egypt, the team led by Temur Kapadze lost 1-0 at the "Bojouar" stadium in Nantes. Consequently, the Paris Olympics concluded for them, despite having one more match against the Dominican Republic.

Diyora Keldiyorova, an athlete from Uzbekistan, achieved both a joyful and historic victory in judo, becoming the first female athlete from Uzbekistan to win a gold medal at the Summer Olympics. Until now, no female athlete from Uzbekistan has achieved such success. Previously, Ekaterina Khilko was the only female athlete to have won a medal, securing a bronze in trampoline at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Keldiyorova made history with her victory.
