Czech promotion "Oktagon MMA" light heavyweight champion Will Flury has challenged Uzbek fighter Mahmud Murodov to a fight. Flury issued the challenge during an interview following his latest victory.

On December 29, 2024, the "Oktagon 65" tournament took place. In the co-main event of the evening, Will Flury faced Chris Vemola for the light heavyweight championship. Flury won the bout by decision, securing the division title.

After the fight, Flury addressed Mahmud Murodov, who was in Vemola's corner and called for a future showdown.

"I see Mahmud Murodov in Vemola’s corner. Since he wants to be the champion in the league, we can fight. Of course, within the weight limit. Can you go up to 90 kilograms? If you can do it, I'm always ready," said Flury.

Murodov responded immediately to the Irishman's challenge.

"90 kilograms is not a problem. I'm here, always ready at 185 pounds. I'm ready now, don't talk too much. We'll figure out the rest in the octagon. We agreed, good luck," said Murodov.

For context, Murodov competed in the UFC from 2019 to 2023. Over his professional career, he has fought 36 times, securing 27 wins and suffering 8 losses, with one fight ruled a no-contest. Murodov signed with "Oktagon MMA" in early 2024.
