International award named after Ogahi is established

3351An international award named after Mohammad Reza Ogahi will be established. On June 4, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this decision.
According to the document, starting in 2025, competitions for the international award will be held every two years in the following categories, with winners to be determined:
- The best translation of Uzbek prose into foreign languages;
- The best translation of Uzbek poetry into foreign languages;
- The best translation of Uzbek children's literature into foreign languages;
- The best translation of foreign prose into Uzbek;
- The best translation of foreign poetry into Uzbek;
- The best translation of foreign children's literature into Uzbek.
Each winner will receive a special diploma, a badge, and a one-time monetary prize equivalent to 300 times the base calculation amount. The awards will be presented at a formal ceremony.
The Writers' Union of Uzbekistan will serve as the administrative body for the International Award Council. The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, will oversee the implementation of this decision.
