600 people have been held accountable under the “Prosperous village” and “Prosperous neighborhood” programs - General Prosecutor's Office

More than 600 officials, who allowed shortcomings in the implementation of the programs “Prosperous Village” and “Prosperous Neighbourhood” (makhalla), have been held accountable, and 61 criminal cases have been initiated.  This was reported by the senior prosecutor of the General Prosecutor’s Office Farrukh Sultanov at a briefing in the Information and Mass Communications Agency (IMCA) today 6 July.

It is noted that the Republican Staff under the leadership of the Deputy General Prosecutor has checked 2,413 projects under the Investment Program, 676 projects on the “New Uzbekistan” residential blocks, and 11,427 projects under the program “Prosperous Village” and “Prosperous Neighborhood”.

According to the information received, 252 officials who committed shortcomings in the implementation of programs and did not fulfill their duties properly were held accountable for disciplinary responsibilities and 359 for administrative responsibility.

In addition, 61 criminal cases have been initiated in connection with serious offenses in the construction sector, and the rights of 880 citizens and businessmen have been restored.
