Norboyeva meets with the UN's permanent coordinator in Uzbekistan

On May 7, Tanzila Norboyeva, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, held talks with Consuelo Vidal Bruce, serving as the UN's permanent coordinator in Uzbekistan, as stated by the Senate's press service.

The discussion primarily revolved around Uzbekistan's ongoing collaboration with the UN and its specialized agencies, the pursuit of sustainable development objectives, gender equality, youth empowerment, and efforts to address environmental challenges, including those stemming from the Aral Sea crisis.

It was emphasized that Uzbekistan's endeavors to address pressing regional and global concerns, along with the initiatives presented by the nation's leadership on the international stage, receive full backing from the UN, indicating a strengthening bond with this influential body.

Mrs. Consuelo Vidal Bruce commended Uzbekistan's socio-economic reforms and highlighted the nation's advancing partnership with the UN, marking a new phase of cooperation.

The meeting, characterized by a cordial and constructive atmosphere, concluded with an agreement to sustain projects aimed at fostering ongoing dialogue, promoting sustainable development, safeguarding and advancing human rights, and enhancing overall cooperation.
