10186On May 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed proposals to boost energy efficiency across various economic sectors, according to the President's press service.
"In an era of increasing energy demand, it is essential to use resources rationally and minimize waste. Thus, for 2024, we have set target indicators for saving electricity and natural gas regionally. These targets aim to organize energy consumption efficiently without disrupting production, saving specific amounts," the report states.
A new energy audit procedure for consumers is being introduced, adhering strictly to international standards. Based on the audit, necessary measures for organizations and enterprises are outlined, and their implementation is monitored.
To ensure transparency, the conclusions of the energy audit and subsequent results are included in annual business plans and approved by the supervisory board.
Energy efficiency KPIs are assigned to the leaders of each organization.
"For violations of electricity and natural gas usage rules, there will be a recalculation using an increasing coefficient on the current tariff. Non-implementation of mandatory audit measures and expected fuel savings from these measures could lead to fines equivalent to the energy resources," the report adds.
It is also proposed to introduce energy consumption ratings for organizations, regions, and real estate objects, with the top and bottom 10% of energy users reported by the Ministry of Energy and publicized in the media.
Target indicators and implementation measures for energy saving were discussed in detail. The head of state emphasized the need to carefully develop these proposals with relevant ministries and agencies and to include them in local councils' discussions.
Additionally, preparations for the upcoming autumn-winter season were discussed. The President instructed officials to start preparations immediately, ensuring all necessary measures were implemented in time, including forming reserves of fuel resources and acquiring components and spare parts needed for the continuous and stable operation of power and thermal stations, as well as repairing and modernizing energy infrastructure.
