Kindergarten directors’ journey to New Year’s event ends in tragedy

A tragic road accident occurred in the Navoi region involving kindergarten directors traveling to a New Year’s event, resulting in the death of a 79-year-old director and injuries to three others.

The incident took place on December 28 along the "Konimekh-Zarafshon" highway. Four kindergarten directors from the city of Zarafshon were en route to a regional event when their vehicle was involved in an accident. One of the directors was driving at the time. The three surviving directors sustained various injuries and were hospitalized.

According to the regional Department of Preschool and School Education, the directors were traveling to an event scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the regional "Enlightenment and Enlightenment" center (Shirin Palace of Culture). The event was intended to summarize the results of 2024 and recognize educational leaders and staff who had made significant contributions to the sector.

Among those to be honored was Gubina Galina Fedorovna, the director of state preschool educational institution No. 3 in Zarafshan. Tragically, Fedorovna lost her life in the accident, prompting the postponement of the event.

This accident follows three recent traffic incidents in Tashkent’s Uchtepa, Almazar, and Mirzo Ulugbek districts, which resulted in injuries to two drivers and a passenger.
