QALAMPIR.UZ has received a complaint regarding the brutal beating of a 38-year-old nurse allegedly perpetrated by the head doctor of the Rehabilitation and Prosthetics Center for Persons with Disabilities in the Navoi region. The Navoi regional department of the National Agency for Social Protection has responded to the incident.

According to reports, the victim, identified as M.N., worked as an on-duty nurse in the center’s neurology department. Following the incident, the department conducted an internal investigation and interviewed staff members to gather further details.

On the same day, the center’s director filed a complaint with the Navoi City Prosecutor’s Office, alleging that M.N. had slandered her. The complaint requested a legal assessment of the situation.

M.N. had previously filed multiple complaints with courts and other authorized bodies, alleging insufficient leave allocation, denial of recall from leave, lack of incentives, failure to assign tasks such as taking patient blood tests, and non-payment for overtime. However, none of these complaints had been upheld.

The department urged the public to refrain from drawing conclusions about the center’s employees until a legal assessment and court decision are issued.

The department’s press secretary, Temur Baybikov, claimed that on the day of the incident, M.N. entered the chief physician’s office, locked the door, and inflicted injuries on herself by striking her forehead against a pencil on the table. Baybikov stated that the chief physician immediately exited the room and called other staff members, while M.N. contacted law enforcement. The prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into the case.

Meanwhile, M.N.’s husband, A.H., who is currently working abroad, provided additional context. He stated that M.N. had been employed at the center for 5-6 years. The acting head physician, identified as B.I., allegedly pressured her to resign for an extended period. Despite completing advanced training courses and presenting a certificate as proof, B.I. reportedly continued to find fault with her work, docked her salary, and criticized her performance.

A.H. claimed that on the day of the incident, M.N. was summoned to the deputy head physician’s office, physically dragged, struck on the head with a desk souvenir, and beaten multiple times, resulting in severe injuries. Her head was reportedly fractured, causing significant blood loss and unconsciousness. M.N. is currently hospitalized in the regional neurosurgery department. She remains in critical condition, with her head immobilized and her ability to move severely impaired.
