In Namangan city, Namangan region, a man under the influence of alcohol attacked his family members with a knife. The incident was reported by the regional Department of Internal Affairs.
According to the report, the incident took place on July 16 at around 08:30. The Namangan city police department received a call stating that a previously convicted citizen, A.T., born in 1960, was drunk and threatening his relatives with a kitchen knife in an apartment in the Nurafshon neighborhood.
Upon receiving the report, neighborhood prevention junior inspector Senior Sergeant Z. Tojiboyev and the assistant to the khokim, M. Makhmudov, immediately arrived at the scene. Despite repeated warnings from the officer, the intoxicated man continued to behave aggressively and attempted to attack with the knife in hand. He was quickly neutralized by the inspector using physical force. Thanks to the swift actions of law enforcement, no one was injured.
Additional police forces later arrived and took A.T. to the city Narcology Department, where he was forcibly hospitalized.
Authorities have drawn up administrative charges against A.T. under Article 183 (petty hooliganism), Article 185 (use of weapons in violation of the established procedure), and Article 194 (failure to comply with the lawful demands of an internal affairs officer) of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. The case materials have been forwarded to the Namangan City Court for Criminal Cases.
It is worth noting that earlier this month, on July 1, a preventive inspector was fatally stabbed while responding to a call in the Khojaabad district of Andijan region. The 65-year-old suspect in that case was detained in a cemetery on July 4.
