Individuals promising overseas employment detained in Namangan

In Namangan city, several individuals who promised to send citizens abroad for employment have been detained. The information was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the report, during joint operational activities carried out by the Namangan city branch of the department and officers of the State Security Service (SSS), citizen M.A. deceived citizens M.S. and A.K. by promising to send them to work in South Korea in exchange for $2,000. He received an advance payment of $1,000. In another case, citizen R.M. agreed to send citizen M.B. to work in Slovakia for 40 million soums and was caught red-handed while receiving $600 and 2.8 million soums from the agreed amount.

It was noted that a criminal case has been initiated under Article 168 of the Criminal Code (fraud), and investigative procedures are underway.

It is worth noting that earlier in Tashkent, several individuals who promised to send people to work in Croatia in exchange for money were also detained.
