A MP is caught while taking a bribe in Namangan

On 13 August of the current year, a woman who is a resident of the Uychi district of Namangan region (oblast), filed an application to the regional department of internal affairs that a person working for the district administration asked her for $500 to take a subsidized mortgage loan. This is reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Namangan region.

It is noted that the woman stated that she had given him the requested money on 18 July of the current year.

On 13 August, at 13:00p.m. in the course of operational measures, a person was detained by law enforcement officers on receipt of US$300, and 1million 100 thousand soms from a woman in a multidisciplinary hospital of the district.  The money was seized as evidence in the presence of impartial witnesses.

The investigation revealed that the citizen was an MP of the Uychi District Council of People’s MPs.

An investigation is underway.
