In Gozal neighborhood, New Namangan District, Namangan Region, an area of 0.17 hectares housing the archaeological site "Bozchi Mozor" saw the destruction of graves dating back to the 16th-17th centuries for the construction of a house. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

The damage to the ancient site is estimated at 6.9 billion soums. Criminal cases have been initiated, and investigations are underway.

These actions are considered severe offenses under the law, punishable by up to 7 years of imprisonment.

Previously, a monument dating from the 5th-7th centuries in the Denov district of Surkhandarya region was demolished to erect a barn. Additionally, in Tashkent, an arbitrary toilet construction occurred within a 16th-century architectural monument.
