Uzbekistan Airways, a route from New York to Tashkent, was compelled to make an emergency landing at St. Petersburg airport due to a disruptive passenger on board, as reported by the company's press service.

The incident occurred on December 11 at 07:35 Tashkent time during flight HY102 from New York to Tashkent. A passenger, a citizen of Uzbekistan born in 1991, instigated a disturbance, prompting the pilot of the Boeing 787 aircraft to divert to an alternate airport. The situation onboard was communicated to the company via radio. Law enforcement officers removed the disruptive passenger from the plane.

Following the resolution of the situation, the aircraft resumed its journey to the intended destination. Flight HY102 is expected to land in Tashkent at 13:00 local time.
