On November 19, a delegation led by New York City Mayor Eric Adams met with Uzbek officials at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, the chamber’s press service reported.

The meeting was attended by Umid Safarov, advisor to the chamber’s chairman, leading Uzbek entrepreneurs, and representatives of several business associations.

Participants discussed ways to deepen trade and economic cooperation, develop joint cooperation projects, and expand business ties between the two regions.

During the meeting, Umid Safarov proposed initiatives to prepare Uzbek entrepreneurs for U.S. capital markets by establishing cooperation with the New York Stock Exchange, creating business schools and acceleration programs in partnership with leading U.S. universities, and opening a joint vocational college in Tashkent.

Kamolat Mirzaalieva, head of a small business association, requested support for cooperation with New York’s small business community and for exporting local products to the U.S. market.

Entrepreneurs also suggested expanding the supply of agricultural products to the American market, developing biochemical products, and promoting innovative projects.

“The meeting was constructive and is expected to help elevate bilateral business cooperation to a new level,” the report said.

For context, on November 6, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington and participated in the C5+1 summit with Central Asian leaders.

It was later announced that a representative office of the Uzbek President’s Administration would be established in the United States. Additionally, the U.S.–Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council was created to strengthen mutually beneficial trade, investment, and commercial ties, improve the business environment, and support entrepreneurial activity.
