Earlier, the Fatwa Center of the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan declared that trading in bitcoin, notcoin, and similar cryptocurrencies is not permissible under Islamic law. The Fatwa Center has now clarified that this announcement was posted on social media by mistake due to technical issues and oversight.

It has been reported that Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiqnazar, the director of the Fatwa Center, along with his deputies, was on the Hajj pilgrimage, and the research on this fatwa project remains incomplete. Comprehensive studies on contemporary issues are still underway.

"We apologize to our esteemed community and inform you that the scientific research on this fatwa will be completed and presented to you," the message states.
