Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov re-elected as judge of the Constitutional Court

Yesterday, February 5, during the 13th plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov was elected as a judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the official website of the Senate reported.
According to the decision, Abdusalomov Mirzo-Ulugbek Elchievich was elected to serve a ten-year term as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Uzbekistan.
For background, he was born in 1952 and holds a higher education degree from Tashkent State University. He is a legal scholar with the academic title of Candidate of Legal Sciences and is recognized as a distinguished lawyer in Uzbekistan. From 1995 to 2004, he served as Chairman of the Supreme Economic Court of Uzbekistan, and from 2004 to 2005, he was Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Uzbekistan. From May 7, 2005, to February 5, 2021, he served as Chairman of the Central Election Commission.
It is worth noting that Abdusalomov has held his current position since February 5, 2021.
