President Mirziyoyev concludes visit to Russia, returns to Tashkent

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has concluded his visit to St. Petersburg, Russia, following a series of key events. The Presidential Press Service reported that the visit wrapped up today, December 26.

During the visit, Mirziyoyev addressed the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, where he highlighted Uzbekistan’s ongoing cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). On December 25, the President also participated in the informal summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) heads of state.

Following the completion of his working visit, Mirziyoyev departed for Tashkent from Pulkovo International Airport. The Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, and other officials accompanied him during his departure.

As a reminder, during the Council meeting, Mirziyoyev proposed simplifying entry for citizens of EAEU countries into Uzbekistan by allowing them to use internal documents, aiming to boost tourism and economic ties.
