Mirziyoyev was awarded the Order of Friendship of Tatarstan

On the first day of his visit to Kazan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of the Republic of Tatarstan, as reported by the President's press service.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed ways to further strengthen mutually beneficial and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan. It was noted that in recent years, industrial partnerships between leading enterprises and active humanitarian exchanges have yielded tangible results. Both sides agreed to continue active dialogues, and mutual visits, and to expand joint economic and industrial zones in Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, a ceremony was held to present President Mirziyoyev with the Republic of Tatarstan’s state award — the Order of Friendship. Rustam Minnikhanov presented the award, recognizing Mirziyoyev's significant contributions to enhancing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan, as well as fostering friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples.

In accepting the honor, President Mirziyoyev expressed his sincere gratitude to the Tatarstan leader, highlighting the significant progress achieved in their bilateral cooperation in recent years. He also conveyed his best wishes to the people of Tatarstan.

Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the reception ceremony for the leaders of the delegations at the BRICS summit in Kazan, where he was welcomed by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the "Kazan Expo" international exhibition center.
