President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with para-athletes Elbek Sultanov, Yorqinbek Odilov, and taekwondo player Asadbek Toshtemirov, who won gold medals for the national team at the Paralympic Games in Paris, France. This was reported by the President's press service.
The head of state congratulated the athletes on their victories, highlighting that the medals were a fitting tribute to Independence Day.
The President also extended his thanks to the coaches and parents of the para-athletes and congratulated the medalists on their achievements.
Currently, the delegation of Uzbekistan has won a total of 11 medals: 5 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze.
Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also congratulated Asila Mirzayorova and Qudratillokhan Marufkhojayev, who won the first gold medals for the national team at the Paralympics, by phone.
