Mirziyoyev and Japarov hold a meeting in a narrow circle

3255A small meeting between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadir Japarov, took place at the Koksaroy residence. The meeting focused on current issues of cooperation between the two countries, as reported by the President's press service.
At the beginning of the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the high-ranking guest and emphasized that joint efforts in recent years have laid a solid foundation for significantly expanding multifaceted cooperation over the long term.
During the visit, it was noted that the signing of the Joint Statement on the further deepening and expansion of comprehensive strategic partnership relations signifies a mutual desire to elevate bilateral relations to a higher level.
The meeting underscored the need to enhance the effectiveness of dialogues at parliamentary, governmental, foreign policy, and sectoral agency levels, and to continue mutual support within international and regional forums, including the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, consultative meetings of regional state heads, and formats like "Central Asia Plus."
The importance of shaping a new economic cooperation agenda was highlighted.
"The urgent need to develop comprehensive measures to increase trade volume to 2 billion dollars in the coming years was emphasized. Yesterday's successful business forum concluded with the adoption of a set of new agreements," the report stated.
Additionally, cooperation projects in renewable energy, automobile manufacturing, and textiles will be launched during this visit. Priority attention was given to expeditiously implementing strategically important regional projects, including the construction of the "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" railway and Qambarota HPP-1. New project proposals for transport and energy infrastructure development were reviewed.
The presidents stressed the importance of expanding interregional cooperation further, including within the Council of Governors of Border Regions. Detailed discussions also covered mutually beneficial cooperation in agriculture, water management, ecology, security, and other sectors.
Satisfaction was expressed regarding the activation of cultural and humanitarian exchanges. Kyrgyz Culture Days are currently being held in Uzbekistan, and yesterday saw the successful Second Rectors' Forum in Samarkand. Both parties agreed to prepare a cultural events calendar for the upcoming years.
The heads of state also exchanged views on mutual regional agenda interests.
