During a briefing with media representatives, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh shared their views on the outcomes of the high-level negotiations. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
At the beginning of his speech, President Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated the people of Mongolia on the upcoming national holiday — the Day of the People’s Revolution.
“We are sincerely pleased with the remarkable successes and achievements of our Mongolian friends in implementing socio-economic reforms, and we fully support your peace-loving foreign policy,” said Mirziyoyev.
It was noted that the Mongolian economy is currently demonstrating stable and high growth rates.
President Mirziyoyev emphasized that his visit to Mongolia — the first by a President of Uzbekistan — is a historic event in the development of friendly and multifaceted cooperation between the two nations.
One of the key outcomes of the visit, he stated, is the signing of a joint declaration on the establishment of a comprehensive partnership, marking a new stage in Uzbek-Mongolian relations.
According to Mirziyoyev, the main focus of the negotiations was on strengthening economic cooperation. Both sides have set the goal of significantly increasing trade volumes in the coming years, primarily by expanding the variety and volume of high-demand products. The planned opening of an Uzbekistan Trading House with an exhibition hall in Ulaanbaatar is expected to serve as a practical step towards achieving this goal.
In addition, the leaders identified specific areas for industrial cooperation, particularly in sectors where the two economies can complement each other effectively.
The parties also agreed to actively develop cultural exchanges by organizing joint concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, and participation in festivals.
President Mirziyoyev expressed Uzbekistan’s readiness to resume the education of Mongolian students at leading universities in Uzbekistan within the allocated quotas.
It was announced that the governments of the two countries will adopt a comprehensive "roadmap" to ensure the timely and effective implementation of all agreements and commitments reached.
Concluding his speech, the Uzbek leader stated that he had invited the President of Mongolia to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan.
It is worth noting that earlier, following high-level negotiations in Ulaanbaatar, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Mongolia signed a joint declaration on the establishment of comprehensive partnership relations.
