Mirziyoyev and the President of Egypt hold a discussion on the issue of Afghanistan

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi made a statement to media representatives after the high-level negotiations. This was reported by the Press Service under the President's Administration.

At the meeting, it was said that the presidents agreed to continue the practice of active mutual support within the framework of international and regional organizations. The leaders emphasized the need not to slow down efforts to stabilize the situation in Afghanistan and help the people of this country.

In addition, Mirziyoyev expressed deep gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality shown to the delegation of Uzbekistan in the ancient and unique land of Egypt and told the Egyptian leader that the great achievements of his people make Uzbekistan happy.

In addition, ideas were exchanged on the topics that the strategy of New Uzbekistan and the "New Republic" program of Egypt were in harmony with each other, and the works on creating new jobs and reducing poverty, social protection of the population, and the development of urban infrastructure were affined.

"We aim to build a bridge of strong cooperation not only between the two countries but also between our strategically important regions," - Mirziyoyev said in his statement.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that the heads of state discussed in detail the issues of activation of political consultations, and expansion of multilateral relations in trade-economic, investment, transport-logistics, cultural-humanitarian, and security spheres.

"It was noted that the huge opportunities and potential in trade and economic cooperation are not being fully utilized, in this regard, it was emphasized the need to implement practical mechanisms and effective measures to increase trade.

It was agreed to jointly implement "green" energy projects, develop optimal transport routes connecting the two countries, use the opportunities of free economic zones, and launch direct flights," - the report of the Press Service says.

In addition, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that all conditions will be created for Egyptian companies to implement mutually beneficial projects in our country.

"Our peoples are connected by age-old ties of friendship based on common religion, similar traditions, and customs. In this regard, it was noted that the issues of scientific and educational exchanges, a joint study of our common historical and cultural heritage, and the strengthening of creative relations between young people occupy a special place in the agenda of bilateral cultural and humanitarian cooperation,” - the report adds.

In addition, readiness to organize mutual visits of poets and writers, artists, and cultural figures of the two countries was expressed.

The initiative to establish a friendship scientific society of scientists of the two countries was put forward for the purpose of in-depth study of the exemplary life and scientific heritage of the great scholar Ahmad Farghani and promotion among the youth.

At the end of his speech, Mirziyoyev expressed firm confidence that the results of the Uzbekistan-Egypt summit would bring bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level for the well-being of friendly nations and give them a long-term spirit.

It should be noted that cooperation documents were signed between Uzbekistan and Egypt.
