4610On March 12, during a high-level meeting at the Élysée Palace, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented President Emmanuel Macron with the first copy of the Uzbek translation of the famous French writer Victor Hugo's novel The Man Who Laughs. This was announced by the President's press secretary, Sherzod Asadov.
It was noted that this book is expected to be published for the public soon and made available to readers.
In return, Macron gifted Mirziyoyev a historical photograph. The Uzbek leader received an image depicting a landscape of Uzbekistan, taken by a French photographer in the late 19th century.
As part of the events at the Élysée Palace, Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emmanuel Macron held a face-to-face meeting to discuss future measures for implementing agreements and documents aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
After the negotiations, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and President Emmanuel Macron of France adopted a joint declaration on establishing a strategic partnership. In the presence of the heads of state, an intergovernmental agreement on the mobility of specialists and students was also exchanged.
