The opening ceremony of the new building of the Uzbek Embassy in Baku was held as part of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's state visit to Azerbaijan. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The leaders cut a symbolic ribbon and officially inaugurated the new premises of the diplomatic mission.

The heads of state toured the building and familiarized themselves with the facilities created to ensure the effective work of diplomats, aimed at further strengthening the strategic partnership and alliance between the two nations.

It was noted that the halls of the embassy are named after regions of Uzbekistan. President Mirziyoyev proposed naming one of the halls after Karabakh as a symbol of friendship and solidarity between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, both presidents wrote their wishes in the embassy’s honorary guest book.

It should be noted that earlier, an official welcoming ceremony was held at the Zagulba residence in Baku for President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in Azerbaijan on a state visit.

Tomorrow, July 3, Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev will continue their dialogue in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, where they are scheduled to visit a joint garment factory in Khankendi and the historical and architectural complex "Imorat" in the city of Agdam.
