The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, suggested holding an Asian Women's Forum in the country next year at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly held in New York on September 19. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.

According to Mirziyoyev, the development of human capital and the education of a creative young generation are among the strategic tasks that Uzbekistan has set for itself

"In recent years, a lot of experience has been accumulated in this regard - the education system is fundamentally changing. In the past six years, coverage in preschool education has increased from 21 percent to 70 percent, and in higher education from 9 percent to 38 percent. By 2030, an opportunity will be created for every child to attend kindergarten, and for every two students graduating from school to study at a university," the press service of the President said.

In addition, it was noted that the issue of youth and the realization of their potential is of particular importance for Central Asia, where almost half of the population is represented by the young generation.

On the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, in order to strengthen cooperation in this field, the region's countries recently signed an agreement on the general directions of youth policy.

To establish effective cooperation with the United Nations Organization and its specialized structures in this field, it is proposed to establish a working group to support the development of the youth of Central Asia and develop the "Agenda of the Youth of Central Asia - 2030" within its framework.

It was also noted that the active participation of women in society and state management is an urgent issue today.

"The noblest goal at the center of our national policy is to ensure the stability of families, legal protection, and a peaceful life for our women," says the leader of Uzbekistan.

Furthermore, it was noted that Uzbekistan is interested in further expanding cooperation with the United Nations Women-Girls structure, and it was suggested to hold an Asian Women's Forum in Uzbekistan next year to discuss the issues of realizing the creative potential of women together and to exchange experiences.
