Uzbekistan is a secular country and will remain so.  Today, on the 8th May, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed these thoughts in a speech dedicated to the results of the referendum.

During the meeting, the president commented that the freedom of conscience of every citizen regardless of nationality, language, religion and social origin will be ensured.  All necessary conditions will be created for the free functioning of all religious denominations, between the various nationalities and denominations in the country.  It was also emphasized that the policy of ensuring harmony and solidarity will consistently continue.

It was further added that any radicalization in the society, use of religion for political purposes will never be allowed.

“From the first day I began work as the  President, I always held strong to these words: ‘We are here to serve our people’ and ‘We must please the people’.”  When we started the reforms, we faced a lot of problems and challenges that we did not even imagine.  Together with our people, we are finding solutions to them and solving every issue on the spot.  The meaning and main goal of our updated Constitution is to create suitable conditions for our people to live comfortably,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to the president, no matter how difficult it is to achieve this goal, the necessary funds are being found, and if necessary, with a surplus, all opportunities are being used.

“Our people are the fairest judge."  "I am sure that today, every person in our country can say, there is a positive change in my life,” said the President.
