Mirziyoyev receives Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey

On August 28, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation led by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, as reported by the President's press service.


At the outset of the meeting, the distinguished guest conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to the leader of Uzbekistan. The parties discussed issues related to the further development of the Uzbekistan-Turkey comprehensive strategic partnership, as well as the expansion of cooperation in cultural, humanitarian, and tourism sectors.

"The current high level of interstate cooperation was noted with particular satisfaction. Mutual trade and investment, the volume of cargo transportation, and the number of business and tourist trips are all on the rise. More than 90 air flights are operated weekly," the statement read.

It was also noted that special attention is being paid to continuing intensive cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

The importance of promptly adopting the relevant 'roadmap,' launching institutional mechanisms for practical cooperation, organizing national culture and film days, protecting art and cultural heritage, developing tourism potential, and promoting joint projects in other priority areas was underscored.
