Today, on September 14th, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has departed for Tajikistan on a business visit at the invitation of Tajikistan's head, Emomali Rahmon. This information was reported by the President's press service.

According to the visit's program, the next consultative meeting of the leaders of the Central Asian countries and a meeting of the leaders of the founding countries of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea will be held in Dushanbe.

It is also planned for the President of Uzbekistan to engage in bilateral talks and participate in other events.

As a reminder, the meeting of the Central Asian leaders will take place in Dushanbe on September 14-15, with a planned signing of a package of five documents based on its outcomes.

For your information, this year, on September 14-15, the fifth consultative meeting of the Central Asian leaders will be held in Dushanbe. During these days, a meeting of the IFAS Council is scheduled, which was established in 1993 to address the environmental crisis and improve the socio-economic situation in the Aral Sea basin. The leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan are expected to participate in the event. Previous meetings took place in 2018 in Astana, Kazakhstan, in 2019 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 2021 in Avaza, Turkmenistan, and in 2022 in Cholponota, Kyrgyzstan.
