President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is set to visit Slovakia. This was announced by Slovak President Peter Pellegrini during his interview with QALAMPIR.UZ on October 31, the second day of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference taking place in Samarkand.
On October 30, Presidents Mirziyoyev and Pellegrini held talks, during which the visit of the Uzbek leader to Slovakia was discussed.
“My visit also had a bilateral dimension, as yesterday I met with the President of Uzbekistan. We held bilateral talks, continuing the visit of the Slovak Prime Minister to Uzbekistan several months ago,” President Pellegrini said.
He added that he and the Uzbek President reaffirmed the friendly relations between their countries and discussed prospects for economic, industrial, and cultural cooperation.

“The most important thing is that we agreed to initiate exchanges at the ministerial level and prepare joint projects. We plan to further strengthen cooperation in these areas. In addition, the President of Uzbekistan will later visit Slovakia, where he will sign additional agreements together with the ministers,” Pellegrini stated.
According to the Uzbek presidential press service, the two sides agreed to increase exports of Uzbek textiles, leather, fruit and vegetable products, and other popular goods to Slovakia, while expanding supplies of Slovak rubber, automotive components, pharmaceuticals, and industrial products to Uzbekistan. To achieve this, national product exhibitions and trade houses will be organized.
It is worth noting that from June 8 to 10 this year, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico visited Uzbekistan. During his trip, he participated in the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum and, together with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, attended the football match between the national teams of Uzbekistan and Qatar.
