Mirziyoyev meets with Orban in Shusha

7247On July 6, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban during the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States, as reported by the President's press service.
During the meeting, they discussed various aspects of Uzbekistan-Hungary bilateral relations. The progress in strategic partnership and practical cooperation between the two countries was noted with satisfaction.
"Active dialogues are ongoing at all levels. In May, a joint Intergovernmental Commission meeting and a business forum were successfully held in Tashkent. In recent years, the volume of trade has nearly doubled, the number of joint projects and enterprises is increasing, and direct flights between Tashkent and Budapest have been restored since June 30," the report highlighted.
Special attention was given to expediting cooperation projects in sectors such as industry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, logistics, and construction.
The importance of preparing a new portfolio of investment projects and organizing the Forum of Regions in Qoqon by the end of the year was emphasized.
Cooperation in education, culture, and sports has been invigorated, with a focus on holding cultural events to foster closer ties between the peoples of both countries.
They also addressed current issues of cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States and the European Union.
It is worth noting that on July 5, President Mirziyoyev traveled to Shusha for the unofficial summit of the Organization of Turkic States. There, accompanied by Kyrgyz President Sadir Japarov and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, he visited the Gavhar Aga Mosque and reviewed the results of the restoration work conducted there.
