1387President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment, Khalid al-Falih, as part of a practical visit to Riyadh. This was reported by the President’s press service.
Within the framework of implementing high-level agreements, the two discussed further expanding practical cooperation, focusing on the implementation of priority investment projects in Uzbekistan. It was noted that in recent years, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia has been rapidly developing across various sectors.
By the end of this year, nearly $2.5 billion in investments from Saudi Arabian companies are expected to be attracted to Uzbekistan.
The importance of promoting promising projects in areas such as "green" energy, healthcare, modernization of transport infrastructure, heat and water supply, agriculture, and the housing and communal economy was highlighted.
In this regard, the need for thorough preparation for the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission, which will be held in Tashkent, was emphasized.
It is worth noting that President Mirziyoyev previously received Saudi Arabia's Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, as part of the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit being held in Riyadh. During that meeting, the focus was on implementing joint investment projects and expanding practical cooperation in the field of "green" energy.
