Mirziyoyev holds talks with Putin

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of Russia Vladimir Putin on October 14, the presidential press service reported.
According to the statement, the sides discussed further development and strengthening of the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance relations between Uzbekistan and Russia in the context of implementing high-level agreements.
Special attention was paid to maintaining the growth dynamics of key indicators of trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as supporting interregional cooperation projects between the two countries.
It was noted with satisfaction that humanitarian cooperation, particularly in the fields of culture, art, and education, including the training of engineering specialists, continues to expand.
Mirziyoyev and Putin last spoke by phone on October 7, when the Uzbek leader congratulated his Russian counterpart on his birthday. The two also met during the ’’Central Asia–Russia’’ second summit and the CIS Summit held in Dushanbe on October 9–10, though no separate bilateral meeting took place there.
