Mirziyoyev visits Azerbaijan. He is expected to have a visit to Karabakh

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, embarked on a state visit to Azerbaijan on August 22, upon the invitation of President Ilhom Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This information was conveyed by the Presidential Press Service.

As per the scheduled itinerary, comprehensive discussions will take place in Baku during the high-level meetings. Additionally, joint visits to the cities of Fuzuli and Shusha, along with other engagements involving state leaders, are on the agenda.

Following nearly three decades of Armenian occupation, Azerbaijan regained control over the Karabakh region on November 8, 2022. Subsequent construction efforts commenced, with Uzbekistan also contributing to these initiatives. Coinciding with the President's visit, an inauguration ceremony for a school constructed on behalf of Uzbekistan is planned in the city of Fuzuli.
