Mirziyoyev receives head of Azerbaijani intelligence

4452On October 17, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan met with Orkhan Sultanov, the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Azerbaijan, who is on a business visit to the country. The President's press service reported the meeting.
At the outset, Sultanov conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to President Mirziyoyev.
"Issues concerning the further deepening of the Uzbek-Azerbaijani alliance and strengthening multilateral cooperation as part of implementing high-level agreements were discussed," the statement read.
The conversation emphasized the importance of enhancing close inter-agency collaboration and effective coordination among special services to combat terrorism, extremism, radicalism, cybercrime, and other contemporary security threats.
Additionally, discussions included expanding practical cooperation to support the economic development of Afghanistan.
On September 12, President Mirziyoyev also received a delegation of Turkish officials, including Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, and National Intelligence Service Director Ibrahim Kalin.
