Mirziyoyev Received the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Jin Lixun in Xi'an as part of the second day of his state visit to China.  This was reported by the Presidential Press Service.

It is noted that practical aspects of further expansion of strategic cooperation between Uzbekistan and this prestigious international financial institution were discussed at the meeting.

In recent years, relations with the bank have been developing rapidly, and the portfolio of investment and socially significant projects has exceeded 2 billion dollars.

Also, the meeting paid special attention to issues related to the fight against poverty and raising the standard of living of the population, introducing renewable energy sources, modernizing transport infrastructure, and supporting and promoting programs for the development of the private sector.

The importance of early adoption of the new Partnership program and preparation for major joint events was emphasized.

It is worth noting that on 18th-19th of May this year, the "China-Central Asia" summit is being held in the Chinese city of Xi'an under the chairmanship of Xi Jinping.

Presidents of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadir Japarov, President of Tajikistan Imomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymuhamedov and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev are also participating in it.
