3578On March 20, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Rohat neighborhood in Tashkent’s Bektemir district to take part in Navruz celebrations. This was reported by the President’s press service.
The neighborhood, home to 4,000 residents, specializes in services and trade. Under a new employment system involving banks, the neighborhood’s internal resources are being utilized. Last year, nearly 100 residents found jobs, 256 became self-employed, and 13 started entrepreneurial activities. Two production enterprises and numerous trade and service outlets have been established, providing convenience for the community.
The President inspected these enterprises and noted the neighborhood’s development.
“The streets are well-maintained, and homes are orderly. Educational and healthcare institutions, sports grounds, a training center, an amphitheater, artisan workshops, and a library-information center are all operational. Currently, the elders’ center is especially lively,” the statement highlighted.
President Mirziyoyev also attended the sumalak festival held in the neighborhood, engaging in warm conversations with community leaders and elders. Discussions covered plans for the year, including maintaining peace, supporting entrepreneurship, and creating new jobs.
“I am pleased to see the prosperity in your neighborhood and the positive spirit of the people. Over time, we will enhance opportunities in all districts. The key to this is peace and harmony. Previously, what was the situation at our borders? With patience and political will, we are finding solutions to all issues. By organizing work at the grassroots level, the conditions in nearly 10,000 neighborhoods are now evident. Through the ‘Mahalla Seven’ initiative, we are reaching every household. There is still much to do in increasing incomes, reducing poverty, and advancing youth policies. That’s why we must prioritize education and ensure our children receive quality learning. A society with educated and morally upright youth will undoubtedly achieve prosperity,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The Rohat neighborhood features a general education school, a children’s music and art school, the “Barkamol Avlod” center, and an academic lyceum. Recently, a new preschool facility was completed, further contributing to youth education and development.
