Mirziyoyev and Chakrabarti discuss Uzbekistan’s economic and governance goals

3045On March 19, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Suma Chakrabarti, his advisor on economic development, effective governance, and international cooperation. The Presidential Press Service reported that the meeting focused on the advisor’s key priorities for the year.
Discussions centered on enhancing Uzbekistan’s investment potential on the global stage, finalizing the country’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), and improving the skills of public servants through training at leading international educational institutions.
"The President emphasized the importance of organizing a high-level “roadshow” to showcase Uzbekistan’s investment potential and hosting the Tashkent International Investment Forum with the participation of major foreign companies and financial institutions," the report states.
The meeting also addressed practical steps for launching the Tashkent International Commercial Court under the International Digital Technologies Center, strengthening Uzbekistan’s position in global rankings, and conducting fundamental research in economic development.
In November of last year, President Mirziyoyev also met with Suma Chakrabarti to review the implementation of the “Uzbekistan–2030” strategy within the framework of the state program. They discussed advancing reforms and the next steps in Uzbekistan’s WTO accession process.
